Jimmy Page Opens Up About Secret Led Zeppelin Vault

Led Zeppelin will re-release their first three albums on June 3.  The deluxe editions of the albums will feature previously unreleased material from the studio and concerts.

Guitarist/producer Jimmy Page explains to Rolling Stone that he worked hard to dig out material that was never bootlegged.  Page notes, "I asked a guy that runs one of the fanzines if he's heard any of this material before. He told me he hadn't. That was a really good feeling."  He also wanted to make sure it was done right, so he did it himself, ldquo;I can’t have anyone else do it because I want it done properly. I dread to think how it could have been thrown together if I wasn’t around.”

Page has already put together the deluxe editions for Led Zeppelin IV, Houses of the HolyPhysical Graffiti, and In Through The Out Door.  He has offered few details, but does say to expect to hear something from the Stairway to Heaven sessions on Led Zeppelin IV.

There is a lot more that can be done, according to Page.  But, don't expect more unreleased material after this round of re-releases.  Page says, 'I'd rather spend time practicing my guitar and going out to play."
