In an interview with NME, Hawkins reveals that he enlisted Foo Fighters front-man Dave Grohl for several tracks. Grohl co-wrote several songs with Hawkins and played some drums.
Hawkins explains, "Dave was only there for two days, but when he came in, I'm like, 'I wanna write a song that's prog-rock fandango with insanity parts flying around everywhere.' I want it to sound like [Queen's] 'March of the Black Queen' meets 'Station To Station' by Bowie meets 'Band On The Run' meets 'Three Days' by Jane's Addiction. Because who cares? And we did it, in one day."
Grohl co-wrote The Ballad of the Birds of Satan, Raspberries, and Wait Til Tomorrow. Foo Fighters guitarist Pat Smear helped on Too Far Gone To See.
The Birds of Satan are Hawkins, Wiley Hodgden, and Mick Murphy.
